Zekelman Industries Participates in Jeans for Wishes
Last week, employees at Zekelman Industries headquarters as well as our Wheatland and Atlas plants in Chicago participated in Make-A-Wish® Illinois’ Jeans for Wishes campaign and fundraiser. Surpassing our company goal, our employees collectively raised more than $1,000 to donate to Make-A-Wish® Illinois.
Encouraging a little healthy competition and team spirit, employees who donated were encouraged to wear jeans and the jersey of their favorite sports team on Thursday, March 19th.
At Zekelman Industries headquarters, a variety of Chicago teams were sported around the office, in addition to some not so celebrated rival teams. With a competition going for the most beloved Chicago team in the office, the Blackhawks captured the fan-favorite title!
“We are really excited about this year’s contribution and look forward to setting an even higher goal for next year!” said Sarah Beatty, organizer of the fundraiser at Zekelman IndustriesHQ.
Jeans for Wishes & Make-A-Wish® Illinois
Jeans for Wishes is campaign and fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Illinois that encourages companies, organizations and schools to raise money (by wearing jeans) to help fund and grant wishes to children in Illinois living with life-threatening medical conditions.
During fiscal year 2014, Make-A-Wish® Illinois granted 634 wishes. With financial support coming from individuals, corporate and foundation donors, every little bit helps to provide deserving children (and their families) with the wish of a lifetime.
