Michael E. Mechley

Executive Vice President of Strategic Procurement

Michael E. Mechley joined Zekelman Industries in 2006. He oversees the procurement of steel and is responsible for scrap and production planning as well as reducing lead times and standardizing and lowering costs.

Prior to joining Zekelman Industries, Michael spent 27 years with General Electric Aircraft Engines, working in various roles in finance, product support and purchasing. He has also held financial positions at both Keebler and Owens-Illinois. He has worked extensively in the area of cost reduction, teaching classes on lean/speed/process mapping. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and holds three patents. Michael received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in management from Xavier University.
